Testing Shopify – part 1
I have decided to try out Shopify to manage my e-commerce. The two main reasons –
- allows me to sell through the Facebook page, you can check it out here.
- it will make it easier to track things for the now necessary for e-commerce EU vat return.
So far the the main challenge it is giving me is in the area of product variants. There is a limit of three variants and 100 combinations per product. Meaning the personalisation options that I want to offer may need to be through communication after check out. Not the most convenient for customers. Still hopeful to find a solution or work around.
However as a good friend recently reminded me too many options can be a bad thing when customers are trying to choose products so perhaps this challenge will prove a blessing in disguise when it comes to other option choices. Time for me to make more decisions perhaps for example offering fewer colours and sizes.
Will let you know how it goes and you should see the changes to the site over the next few days. The first products available through Facebook are already up. You can check them out here.
As always, if you have any questions, suggestions or just want to say hello, email me or use the message form at the bottom of the sidebar. It would be great to hear from you!
