Testing Shopify – part 1

I have decided to try out Shopify to manage my e-commerce. The two main reasons –

  • allows me to sell through the Facebook page, you can check it out here.
  • it will make it easier to track things for the now necessary for e-commerce EU vat return.

So far the the main challenge it is giving me is in the area of product variants. There is a limit of three variants and 100 combinations per product. Meaning the personalisation options that I want to offer may need to be through communication after check out. Not the most convenient for customers. Still hopeful to find a solution or work around.

However as a good friend recently reminded me too many options can be a bad thing when customers are trying to choose products so perhaps this challenge will prove a blessing in disguise when it comes to other option choices. Time for me to make more decisions perhaps for example offering fewer colours and sizes.
